Un cabinet particulier - Les estampes de la Collection Frits Lugt

Frits Lugt (1884-1970) was a self-taught collector and art historian, who collected a large number of unique drawings and prints during his lifetime. This collection, which includes work by Rembrandt, has never been presented to the public as a single unit before and continues to astonish connoisseurs in individual presentations on account of its composition and singularity. This book provides the first overview of the drawings and prints collected by Lugt and his successors. The collection is housed in the historic Hotel Turgot on the Rue de Lille in Paris, where the l’Institut Néerlandais is also located. This book also serves as a catalogue for the exhibition of the same name in the institute, which runs until 11 July 2010. A large number of renowned institutes contributed to the book such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the British Museum in London and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris.
