Architecture Words 10 - Second Best Utopia- Essays in Utopics

Developed from a series of seminars at the Architectural Association, this latest instalment of the Architecture Words series presents four extended essays in ‘utopics’ that derive from the work and writings of four of its principle promoters: Plato, Thomas More, Claude Nicolas Ledoux and Charles Fourier. Taken together, they suggest not so much a descriptive history of utopia as a number of questions that have emerged throughout history when utopian thought, as derived from literary and philosophical genres, has been adopted by architects and urban designers.
