‘Better Than Weather’ explores the comfort of artificial environments by investigating and analysing the extraordinary advancements made in controlled climate technology. The objective is to critically depict our desire and need for spatial comfort that goes beyond natural weather and climate. By examining these sealed and air-conditioned worlds, it challenges the technological ambition to ignore the impacts of climate change through radical redefinitions of hermetic architecture and design and closed-circuit comfort systems. Because the ease of air-conditioned life has the potential to both isolate and liberate humanity in its newly discovered artificial comfort.
