Almere, the youngest city in the Netherlands, has always embraced ambitious construction projects. Everything had to be reinvented, as the city rose from the reclaimed land of the Zuiderzee.
Almere Architecture City showcases this ‘New Town’ through its top 100 buildings: from the eco-district of Oosterwold to Liesbeth van der Pol's industrial Rooie Donders and from OMA's (Rem Koolhaas) elevated City Centre to Daniel Libeskind's landscape artwork. Internationally renowned firms like Alsop, MVRDV, and SANAA are showcased, alongside Dutch icons such as Herman Hertzberger, Marlies Rohmer, and René van Zuuk.
