This edition takes an in-depth look at the Flight 93 National Memorial, which commemorates the crash of United Airlines Flight 93, one of four aircraft hijacked during the attacks on 11 September 2001. Located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, it honours the passengers and crew of Flight 93, who stopped the terrorists from reaching their target. The memorial was designed by Paul Murdoch Architects, a firm based in Los Angeles. Through an interest in the spiritual dimensions of space explored through the relationship of architecture and landscape, the architects design for a regenerative future that is socially just, culturally rich, and ecologically restorative.
