This two-volume publication is the outcome a research project bringing together artists, scientists, and policymakers at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. Through collaboration and co-creation, the project explores questions surrounding environmental sustainability, decolonisation of nature, a just green transition, and the Rights of Nature. Pushing beyond Rousseau’s social contract, ‘NaturArchy’ calls for a more inclusive and equitable contract with our environment and its non-human inhabitants. Ultimately, it seeks to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and critical reflection on the relationship between ecology, governance, culture, and collective futures.
