The gardens of Pieter Croes and Bart Haverkamp are intuitive and organic, just like their career. They rolled into garden design intuitively about thirty years ago, navigating an organic career path. By focussing on sustainability and trusting their ideas, that were spontaneously inspired by the environment and circumstances, Bart and Pieter have cultivated a recognisable and much sought-after style. To some their work may feel rebellious; to them it comes naturally. More than anything else, they like to create green oases in the city, with various plants, flowing lines, and natural materials. Letting nature take its course, untamed, thanks to well-thought-through choices and drawing on three decades of experience. For this book, they curated a selection of garden designs that they realised in recent years — inspiring examples of wild harmony, Bart and Pieter’s trademark style. Their mission is to counterbalance the fast pace and concrete of city life by creating space for nature and bringing more biodiversity to our environment.
