The Voynich manuscript, named after Polish bookseller Wilfrid M. Voynich, who acquired it from Italian Jesuits in 1912, is a handwritten medieval document whose subject matter remains a mystery. It contains floral and anatomical as well as cosmological, biological, and pharmaceutical sections with stunning illustrations. Its geographic origin is vague, and the script is even more of an enigma. Since the manuscript’s popularisation in the 20th century, no one has succeeded in deciphering the text. This book reproduces the entire surviving manuscript, page by page, offering readers a chance to rediscover it in detail with the help of numerous illustrations and close-ups.
