Noorderpark Amsterdam

The Noorderpark in Amsterdam will be created by redesigning and joining two existing parks dating from the beginning of the twentieth century. The European competition for the design of the new park was won by West 8 landscape architects. The book deals with the significance of the Noorderpark in its urban and landscape context. The 31-hectare park will have an important function in the transformation of the former industrial estates of North Amsterdam into a residential area. Moreover, the new North-South underground line will have a stop near the future park. This will make the park accessible from Central Station on other side of the IJ in a very short time. A digital adaptation will be included in the publication to give an idea of the future park.
