Onder Heren, Keizers en Prinsen

In recent years, forty people were interviewed who live and/or work in the centre of Amsterdam in the area between Brouwersgracht, Singel, Prinsengracht and Raadhuisstraat. A portrait in text and image was made of each person interviewed. The emphasis lies on the (life) mottos and the personal stories of the person portrayed. The silence and the ‘village-like’ character of this part of the city are introduced by Kees Fens in an unparalleled manner.
