The Amsterdam Academy of Architecture has started a new series of publications which highlight the results of the education and research programmes within the Master’s programme. Designers and researchers affiliated with the Academy have written about what intrigues them, and about the questions and assignments that arise from their own work. The Academy disseminates research questions in the field in order to use the results in its education programme. The first part of the series, ‘Re-inventing the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture’, looks back on the last centenary celebration. Contributions by, among others, Maurits de Hoog, Herman Hertzberger, Maaike Behm and Wim van den Bergh, reflect on the past, the present and the future of the Academy’s education programme and the study model in which theory and practice go hand in hand.
